FAQ

Everything you need to know before your little spark.

The Experience

What is permanent jewelry?

Permanent jewelry is a piece of jewelry that is custom-fitted to you and welded closed, creating a seamless, clasp-free finish.

How does permanent jewelry work?

You choose your favorite chain, we measure it to your desired fit, and the ends are connected using a specialized welding process. The process is quick and does not involve piercing or cutting the skin.

Does getting permanent jewelry hurt?

No. The welding takes place on the jewelry itself, not on your skin. You may see a small flash or spark during the process, but you should not feel the weld.

How long does the appointment take?

Most pieces take approximately 10–15 minutes, depending on the jewelry selected and the number of pieces being fitted.

Can I bring someone with me?

Of course. Maison Oréa is designed to be an experience to share. Guests are welcome, subject to the capacity of the location.

The Jewelry

What materials does Maison Oréa offer?

We offer a curated selection of jewelry in materials such as 14k gold-filled, sterling silver, and selected plated options, depending on the collection.

Will my jewelry tarnish?

Your jewelry will resist tarnish under normal conditions, but it can tarnish or wear down over a long period if exposed to harsh chemicals, heavy sweat, or specific environmental triggers.

What is 14k gold-filled?

Gold-filled jewelry consists of a substantial layer of 14k gold mechanically bonded to a base metal. It contains significantly more gold than standard gold plating and is designed for greater durability.

What is sterling silver?

Sterling silver is composed of 92.5% pure silver, with the remaining portion typically consisting of other metals that provide strength and durability.

What is 18k PVD gold?

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is a coating process that deposits a thin layer of material onto the jewelry. It is generally more durable than traditional plating.

Care & Everyday Wear

Can I shower with my permanent jewelry?

Yes, your jewelry can generally be worn during everyday activities such as showering. However, minimizing exposure to harsh chemicals and unnecessary products will help preserve its appearance.

How should I clean my jewelry?

Use a soft jewelry cloth and gently wipe the piece. Avoid abrasive materials and harsh cleaning products unless specifically recommended for that material.

Fit, Sizing & Stacking

How do you determine my size?

We measure the jewelry directly on you and adjust it according to your preferred fit before welding.

Should my bracelet be tight or loose?

That's completely personal. We can create a closer, more fitted look or leave a little room for movement.

Can I get a permanent necklace?

Yes, if the selected chain is suitable for a necklace application.

Can I stack multiple bracelets?

Absolutely. Stacking is one of the best ways to personalize your Maison Oréa collection.

Can I add another piece later?

Yes. You can build your collection over time and add additional pieces during future appointments or events.

Can I get matching jewelry with someone?

Absolutely. Permanent jewelry is particularly popular for matching pieces between friends, couples, sisters and family members.

Breaks, Removal & Repairs

What happens if my jewelry breaks?

Permanent jewelry is designed for everyday wear, but chains can break if they are pulled, caught or subjected to significant force. If your piece breaks, keep both ends of the chain and contact us. We'll let you know what repair options are available.

Can I remove my permanent jewelry?

Yes. Permanent jewelry can be removed by cutting the chain at the weld point. We recommend keeping the chain if you would like it repaired or reconnected later.

Can you reconnect my bracelet after I remove it?

If the chain is still in good condition and the piece is suitable for reconnection, we may be able to reconnect it. Contact us to confirm.
